HISTORY OF PHOTOSHOP

Photoshop is a prominent photo editing and graphic designing software developed by Adobe Systems for Windows and MacOS. It was originally developed in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, Photoshop has become an industry standard not only in the field of raster graphics editing but in the digital world also.

PHOTOSHOP VERSIONS

The first version of Adobe Photoshop is 0.07 which was released in January 1988. But it was not publicly released. The versions of Photoshop from 0.07 to 2.0 works on the Macintosh platform. After that Adobe Photoshop 2.5 was officially released in November 1992. It works for both Windows and MacOS.

Adobe Photoshop CS (Creative Suite) was released in October 2003 which includes many new and exciting features. The first version of Photoshop CS was CS 8.0 which was released in October 2003. This was the first version which adds support for Camera RAW 2.x. The versions of Photoshop CS were extended to CS6 with new and exciting features.

Then it comes Adobe Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud). It was released in June 2013, around 13 months after the release of Photoshop CS6. Photoshop CC is subscription based. It allows users to access the software without the initial hefty cost. It also brings support for Camera RAW 8. Presently, Photoshop CC is in great demand and used by many editors and artists.

PHOTOSHOP INSTALLATION

Before you begin, verify that your computer meets the system requirements for Photoshop CS6.

FOR WINDOWS

• Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64 processor.
• Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. Adobe CS 5.5 and CS6 applications also support Windows 8.
• 1 GB of RAM
• 1 GB of available hard disk space for installation, additional free space required during installation
• 1024×768 display with 16-bit color 512 MB of VRAM
• OpenGL 2.0-capable system
• DVD-ROM drive

This software doesn’t operate without activation. You need a broadband Internet connection for the activation of this software. It also requires registration for validation of subscriptions and access to online services

FOR MAC OS

• Multicore Intel Processor with 64-bit support
• Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. Adobe CS 3,4,5, CS5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8) when installed on Intel-based systems.
• 1 GB of RAM
• 2 GB of available hard disk space for installation, additional free space is required during installation
• 1024×768 display with 16-bit color and 512 MB of VRAM
• OpenGL2.0 capable system
• DVD-ROM drive

HOW TO INSTALL PHOTOSHOP?

Now we will show you how to install Photoshop CS6 license version. The trial version allows you to try Photoshop for 30 days. If you like, then you should buy a full version. Follow the steps-

• First, open a web browser (Google Chrome).
• Then go to the official website of Adobe that is https://www.adobe.com
• After scrolling down, you will see an option Discover the apps.
• After click on Start free trial, you will download Photoshop Setup.exe file.
• Open the Setup Wizard
• Then you create an Adobe ID by click on Sign up option.
• Then a new browser tab will open. There you should finish your authentication process.
• When your Adobe ID is created then you have to wait for the initialization of files.
• After initialization of files, a window will appear. It has 3 options-
• 01. Install with a serial number
• 02. Start my subscription
• 03. Install a trial
• After choosing Install with a serial number option, a new window will appear. You have to accept a license agreement of the Adobe License Agreement.
• Click Accept
• Open the License file and copy the Windows License key
• Paste the serial number and click Next
• Click install.
• The installation process gets started and it may take several minutes.
• Installation complete. Click Close

After installation complete, you will launch the software. So, these are the steps of installation of Photoshop. Hope you will install Photoshop CS6 on your computer. You will see a desktop icon of Photoshop. Double click on that icon.
